Author of Eruptions that Shook the World, Oppenheimer regularly conducts fieldwork on Antarctica’s Mount Erebus, the continent’s most active volcano and home to one of the longest-lasting lava lakes on the planet. But, as he described in his blog diary, it’s not all work and no play. And like any active author, he makes time to sign a few books along the way.
