Rik Van Nieuwenhove is Professor of Medieval Theology at Durham University, UK. His scholarly interests include scholastic theology (especially Thomas Aquinas), spirituality of the Late Medieval Low Countries (especially Ruusbroec) and how premodern thought can challenge and enrich today's intellectual discourses. He has published ten books, including Thomas Aquinas & Contemplation, Introduction to Medieval Theology, 2nd edition (2021), and Jan van Ruusbroec. Mystical Theologian of the Trinity (2003).
