Mary C. Erler is the author of Reading and Writing during the Dissolution: Monks, Friars, and Nuns 1530-1558. She is professor of English at Fordham University, New York, She is interested in late medieval women's reading and book ownership and wrote an earlier book on this subject: Women, Reading and Piety in Late Medieval England (Cambridge, 2002).
