Bonnie J. Buratti is a Senior Research Scientist and Project Scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology. Her popular book Worlds Fantastic, Worlds Familiar: A Guided Tour of the Solar System was published in 2017. She is an astronomer with expertise on the composition and morphology of planetary surfaces. She is a past Chair of the Division of Planetary Sciences of the American Astronomical Society, and a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union. Asteroid 90502 Buratti is named after her, and she received a NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal for her work on the Cassini Mission.
